What does "general information" mean here?

Our pages describe Bulgarian rules on company formation, residence permits, tax and property as they apply to a typical case. Your nationality, family, income source or company structure can change which rule applies to you.

Each figure on a money page carries the date it was last checked and a link to its source — usually a Bulgarian law, a ministry or agency website, or the EU Immigration Portal. Before you act on a rate, a threshold or a deadline, open that source. How we collect and review these facts is set out in our editorial policy.

Is Setup Bulgaria a law firm?

No. We are a document preparation and filing service. We register companies, prepare and file residence applications, translate documents and handle registrations on your instructions.

• We do not represent you in court or before an authority in a dispute.
• We do not issue legal opinions and do not sell legal advice.
• If your case needs a licensed professional, you should consult one directly.

Who makes the decision on my application?

The competent Bulgarian authority does — for example the Migration Directorate, a Bulgarian consulate, the Registry Agency or the National Revenue Agency. We control only our own part: the completeness of the file and when we submit it.

• Processing times on this site are typical for the authority, not promised by us.
• An authority may ask for extra documents at any stage.
• A complete, correctly filed application can still be refused.

Why can a page be out of date?

Bulgarian rules have changed several times recently. The euro replaced the lev on 1 January 2026, so amounts written into laws in levs are shown on this site in euro at the fixed conversion rate. Citizenship by investment was abolished in 2022 and is described only as a closed route.

A change published in the State Gazette can take effect before we update a page. The "checked on" date next to a fact tells you how fresh it is.

Are the prices on this site final?

No. Prices shown as "from" are indicative; the final quote depends on your case. The number of applicants, documents to translate and legalise, and the route chosen all change the amount.

State fees are paid to the authority and are not part of our fee. Where a page shows no price, we give one only after reviewing your case.

Does writing to us create a client relationship?

No. Sending a request through the form or by email does not create a contract. Work starts only after you accept a written quote, under our Terms of Service. What we do with the data you send is described in the Privacy Policy.

What about links to other websites?

We link to official sources so you can verify our figures. We are not responsible for the content or availability of those websites, and a linked page may change after we checked it.

Who operates this site?

The only contact channel is [email protected] — write there if something on this site looks wrong or out of date. We usually reply within a few working days.
